Track Mods
OkkunSnow
This is one of the very first track mods to ever be created. For the most part, it's OkkunSpeedway with new textures applied. It was created by Capelle, as a proof of concept, once he figured out how the textures worked in the game. This track mod was originally released in 2003 as part of a track pack. This mod does not replace any of the existing tracks in the game and is only available once you unlock all the tracks.
- Let it snow!
Capelle took the liberty to sprinkle snow all around OkkunSpeedway, giving the track a very Christmas-y look. With asphault nowhere to be seen, you will need a whole new driving style to get any kind of decent lap time. - Let it slide!
In its original release, back in 2003, the road surface was replaced with a snow-looking, but grass-feeling material. In 2023, the surfaces were reworked to feel more like actual snow/ice. So prepare yourself for massive slides around the bends and prolonged opposite lock and throttle control to keep the slide going. But stay away from the gravel, as it's now quite bumpy with the snow resting on top of it! - Let it Glide!
See what we did there? Okay, okay, it was too easy. But you see, in the original release, the mod only shipped with a Direct3D 32-bit color texture pack. It made sense, as Glide was pretty much extinct. But seeing how Glide has re-emerged by way of compatibility wrappers, the 2023 rework finally fixed the 256-color texture pack and OkkunSnow finally received the Glide compatible textures it always deserved.

NolbyVillage
Along with OkkunSnow, this is the second track mod contained in the original track pack. Using the texture tools that Capelle had developed, Raptor created a variation of Nolbyhills with some textures moved around to create a gravel track and even some borrowed from Atlantika. This mod does not replace any of the existing tracks in the game and is only available once you unlock all the tracks.
- Nolbyhills in gravel!
The asphault was too perfect, so we brought in the bulldozers! In the 2023 reword, the surface physics have been changed to give it a proper slippery surface. Just make sure you don't go too fast, and you should be able to slide around the bends like a rally car! - We didn't have to move much!
So where do we find all this gravel? Well, the dumptrucks just moved the gravel from the graveltraps onto the asphault. As the original mod only worked with Direct3D, the textures have been fixed in 2023 to work with Glide as well. - Monster Truck race!
We do understand that these cars were never meant for rallying (well, tell that to the Group B Porsche 959). So for best effect, you can raise your suspension using the Mega-Springs cheat to have a monster truck race. Raising the suspension also seems to work well for taking tight bend with minimal effort!

Cars
Volvo S40 (coming soon)
So there we were, minding our own business, when a guy in the Facebook group asked if it's possible to bring the Volvo S40 car from S40 Racing into Motorhead. Can you believe this guy?
Of course, we already knew the Digital Illusions had created S40 Racing a few month before releasing Motorhead, as that they re-used a lot of code and assets (S40 Racing featured Nolbyhills and OkkunSpeedway). But still, there are some differences between the two games.
So we looked into it, and it looked quite possible, as the 3d meshes were compatible. The textures of course were a different beast, but we took it step by step.
And what do you know? There it was! A Volvo S40 racecar in all its glory and textures, on the Redrock starting grid. Now we only had to configure the car's engine, suspension and other specs.
This is currently work in progress, and we're just finetuning the suspension balance, so this should be coming very soon!
